PROBLEM:
Reports that have files related using overlap fields do not seem to work in Crystal Reports 9. Any suggestion?

SOLUTION:
Check the Crystal Reports version - from the Designer, select Help | About Crystal Reports. The relased version is 9.2.0.448 and it would cause problems on that kind of reports. You will need to download and install the latest hotfix provided by Crystal Decisions (Crystal Reports 9.0 Main Program Files Monthly Hot Fix ) or the latest Service Pack available -- use the link at the bottom of this article to find the hotfixes and service packs posted by Crystal Decisions. From that page, select:

For Hot Fixes
=============
At the "Make a selection" combobox, Search for hot fixes

On the following page:
Search for - hotfix
Select Product - Crystal Reports
Sort by - date published
Select Version - 9

Then click on the SEARCH button and the results will be displayed.

For Service Packs
=================
At the "Make a selection" combobox, Download service packs

On the following page, scroll down until you see Crystal Reports Service Packs. Look for Crystal Reports 9.0 and click on the links to download the files.

Note:
The Connectivity Kit for Crystal installation program checks the version of Crystal Reports installed and warns about this condition. The installation program will not install the update for you, you need to download it from Crystal Decisions website as described above.
