QUESTION:
How can we configure the IDE from Visual DataFlex 9 to run Crystal Reports?
ANSWER:
You cannot do that from the IDE. You will need to edit a registry entry as described below.
- Start Regedit
- Expand the tree until you find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.0\Application_Links
- Click on Application_Links
- On the right-hand panel, double-click on CrystalRWPath
- Enter the path to Crystal's CRW32.exe and that file name (e.g. C:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Crystal Reports 9\Crw32.exe)
- Click on OK
- Close Regedit
After following those steps you should be able to start Crystal Reports from the IDE.
Note:
This also applies to Visual DataFlex 8.
