Converting Existing Reports
Existing reports that already use the DataFlex Connectivity Kit 2.x for Crystal Reports do not require any change to the database driver. You may want to use the Verify Database option (on the Database menu) to check existing reports, especially those that use overlap fields to link files.

If the Verify Database check gives the error...
Failed to load database information.
Details: The database DLL `crdb_p2bdflex.dll' could not be loaded.

...the report you are trying to run was created with the DataFlex Connectivity Kit 1.x for Crystal Reports and must be converted to use the new driver name.

IMPORTANT! The conversion process can only be run in the development environment.

1. Make backup copies of your reports.

2. Start Crystal Reports Designer.

3. Choose the Select Datasource Location option from the Database menu. Each data file in the "Current Data Source" section of the dialog must be "Replaced" with a new data source for that file. Although you are not necessarily changing the location of the data files, the act of "replacing" the data source will update the driver name used to access that file.

4. Select a data file to be updated from the treeview in the upper section. Do not select the filename.dat

5. Use any of the available methods (Current Connections, Favorites, History or Create new Connection) to map the existing data file to the appropriate DataFlex file.

6. Once you have the mapping complete, press the Update button to complete the remapping for the selected data file. If the file definition has changed, you will be allowed to remap the fields at this time.

7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 for each data file used in the report.
