Wood Group and DataFlex
Wood Group PSN is the largest provider of brownfield services to the oil and gas industry. The company boasts a global network of over 30,000 people in more than 40 countries.
The company uses DataFlex as the development platform for their certification training tracking systems, keeping employees properly trained based upon their job description requirements.
"We are using a mixture of Visual DataFlex 16.1, 17.0 (Content Manager) and DataFlex 18.0, and once DataFlex 2015/18.1 is released, we plan to convert all parts of our system to this latest build," says the company’s Applications Developer, David King.
"Over the past 3 weeks, I have developed a desktop style web application, which is a scaled down version of our 18.0 Windows Training Tracker system. It is finished and ready for testing – we are just waiting for the final release of 18.1.
"The Studio has been a great tool, and as they say, everything just works."
David says that the new DataFlex has inspired several ideas for mobile applications that they’re considering developing in the near future.
